Akumal beaches are called the Riviera Maya, they include:
Central Akumal Beach
which is the main beach where you can find shopping, dive shops (2 full service dive shops: Scuba courses, daily reef diving, fishing), Snorkeling, fishing/tour boats for hire, water sports and kayaks, restaurants, a beach bar, and places to stay.
North Akumal Beach
Most of North Akumal is on Half Moon Bay which has a beach and Yal-Ku Lagoon which is loaded with tropical fish, Snorkeling, dive shop, water sports, kayaks,Beach bar restaurants
Jade Beach (Jade Bay)
Mixture of fine sand changing to rocks at the points, it is within walking distance to Akumal Bay via the beach (foot protection recommended). Snorkeling
South Akumal Beach
The next bay south from Jade Beach, Private gated community with mostly luxury villas, Narrow sandy beach of fine sand and some rocks, Snorkeling, swimming and kayaking when calm, Kayaks (at some houses).
Anenturas Akumal Beach:
It is a mix of beach houses and condos, and wide sandy beach of fine sand, Snorkeling and swimming best in calm seas, water sports, 1 dive shop, each bar (resort).
